Interior designer Ulrike Nachbargauer has a special connection to Vienna’s Burgtheater. She gives discarded stage ephemera from the greatest theatre in the German-speaking world a new life in another context.

 

Whether painted curtains, floorboards or other parts that have outplayed their part at the theatre but are still of emotional value, Ulrike Nachbargauer breathes new life into these elements by transforming pieces of stage design into artistic furniture that she installs in people’s living rooms.
