EVE OF RETIREMENT
A unique piece of furniture
The play Eve of Retirement by Thomas Bernhard was performed at the Vienna Burgtheater in 1999 under the direction of Claus Peymann. Karl-Ernst Herrmann developed the stage design
After the performance at the Vienna Burgtheater closed, the architect reworked a curtain from the scenery into a piece of furniture.
Today the former curtain from Thomas Bernhard’s play covers a piece of furniture. Eve of Retirement is performed again in the living room. Great theatre within your own four walls.
